THT Assembly

The primary types of soldering in our THT PCB production are classified into three processes:

Selective Soldering  Advanced process for High-Quality THT PCB Production

Currently, the most widespread and effective soldering method for soldering Through-Hole Technology (THT) components is selective soldering.

This process involves applying flux exclusively to the components requiring soldering. The printed circuit board (PCB) is then preheated, after which a bubble of solder is used to specifically solder the designated components.

Steiner Elektronik operates 3 lines of selective soldering systems from ERSA, namely the VERSAFLOW and SMARTFLOW models, ensure safe processing and exceptional positioning accuracy.

These machines can accommodate boards measuring up to 508 x 508 mm.

Benefits of Selective Soldering in THT PCB Manufacturing

Selective soldering offers a precise and efficient solution for through-hole technology (THT) PCB assembly. By applying solder only where needed, this advanced technique reduces thermal stress on components, improves joint reliability, and ensures consistent quality. It also enhances production efficiency, minimizes solder waste, and supports complex PCB designs that require both THT and SMT assembly. At Steiner Elektronik Ltd., we leverage selective soldering to deliver high-performance, cost-effective solutions for our customers.

Selective soldering is not only rapid and cost-effective compared to hand soldering but also guarantees an efficient and flawless THT assembly process.

Manual THT Assembly Skilled & Reliable PCBA Manufacturing

We have a team of highly skilled and motivated employees who perform the manual assembly of circuit boards:

  • ICs DIP8-20 – 1500 pcs/hourAxial elements – 3,000 pcs/hour
  • 50 working places equipped with last versions of WELLER stations with precise regulation of the temperature
  • Flexibility and fast preparation of components
  • LED Assembly

Wave Soldering System Efficient & Cost-Effective PCB Assembly

Wave soldering is a highly efficient process that allows for the rapid production of multiple circuit boards at the same time, making it ideal for mass production of PCBs.

In this method, a wave soldering machine applies molten solder to all pads and component leads simultaneously as the PCB passes over the solder wave.

Our wave soldering machine is SEHO with N2 tunnel system for perfect solder connections:

  • Machine with nitrogen (N2) tunnel for perfect solder connections. The flexible preheating zone configuration with an active length of 1800mm [70.86″] enables the system to be adapted to your specific production needs. A new and innovative tunnel insulation ensures very high energy efficiency, clear advantage for our production costs.
  • The transport line to the machine is equipped with innovative ergonomic working places which provides efficiency and comfort to the operator and gives more productivity to the production.

  • Machine for small series and samples
